Presentation
The
ICT Competency Center (CCTIC UM), University of Minho was established
in 1997 under the National Programme Nónio century contest. XXI, with
the mission to develop the curriculum integration and pedagogical
innovation in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) , provides support, training and consulting initiatives in schools and projects of Basic education to Secondary.
The
CCTIC-A is an extension of teacher training tradition and research in
Information and Communication Technologies in Education held at the
University of Minho, which hosted one of the MINERVA poles (1985 -
1994), a project that is a reference in the process introduction of ICT in education and contributing to the development
of the offer of post-graduate training at the University in this area,
leading to the building of a critical mass capable of perspectives
teachers, design and implement educational projects in this area.
Currently,
the Center's team consists of teachers and researchers of the
University of Minho and a teacher of basic education highlighted by
Educational Resources and Technologies Team Education General
Directorate.
The
main activity performed concerns the monitoring of educational
innovation projects with ICT, with special reference to the training and
promotion of use of online teaching and learning environments through
e-learning platforms (LMS), as well as in the design and production digital content. Also,
as part of the ongoing intervention areas participates in studies and
national and international projects in the e-learning domain and network
education, curriculum integration and educational innovation with ICT,
emerging development environments and digital content, online
assessment, internet security and organizes since 1999 the Challenges -
International Information and Communication Technologies in Education
Conference and, since 2011, the journey of Digital Content for Education
(jCDE).
