Concept, vision and values
The Resource Center for Cooperation and Development (CRCD), will developme er and strengthen initiatives leading to a critical reflection on the understanding of the development of interdependencies and inequalities in the world.
taking as a st​rategy to develop processes of reflection, research, training and intervention, the CRCD will promote processes and practices with a view to institutionalizing the UMinho strategic areas related to Education for Development under the Global Citizenship, Cooperation for Development and Cooperation in emergency and fragile contexts (particularly in the field of education and other relevant areas), involving IE, other schools UMinho and the community, including NGOs for Development (NGO) and industry private. These areas are in line with the agendas of national and international cooperation and should be guided by principles that include, among others: the leadership and ownership of partner countries in their development process; coordination and complementarity between actors and donors, managing for results, mutual accountability and strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
The CRCD bases its work on values ​​of solidarity, social justice, human dignity and the activities within the university development cooperation should be carried out wherever possible by all members of the academic community: students, staff , teachers and researchers.

Policy areas:
1. Programs and Projects
At the level of this domain the CRCD want to promote, participate and / or perform the design and management of programs and projects framed in its strategic areas, mobilizing actors from academia whose areas of study or work is relevant to them.

2. Supporting research
The problems of development and cooperation may be constituted as one of the areas to be worked on in terms of research, with special emphasis on Lusophone contexts and according to a research agenda to be defined with partners.
3. scientific meetings and other events
Conferences, seminars, forums, symposiums, cultural events, will be to integrate activities in this area. The main objective is to promote knowledge and debate on the issues of development and cooperation at the Academy, as well as represent the same in this type of action in activities promoted by development agencies and CSOs.
4. Specialized training
This area constitutes in specialized training activities, particularly in education issues for global citizenship and development cooperation, aimed at the academic community and other interested.
5. Resources
The CRCD aims to provide materials, digital and human resources to support academic community involvement with the themes worked in terms of their strategic areas for the purpose of supporting research, as for intervention purposes.
6. Communication
This is a policy area that aims to promote, both within and outside academia, activities and relevant information on development and cooperation arising from different institutional contexts in which this area is worked and recognized.
7. Partnerships and Networks
The CRCD is to make an effort to join a network of strategic partners, multilateral (UN agencies), bilateral (Camões - Cooperation Institute and Language) and civil society partners (eg NGO in the North Global as in the Global South) and other local partners (for example, the city of Braga).
8. Advocacy
It will be essential to create advocacy mechanisms to promote cooperation for quality development in an attempt to influence the policies of cooperation, particularly in the area of ​​education, drawing attention to the importance of agendas as Education for All, quality of cooperation, education and fragility.

countries
Will be in line with the priorities CPLP countries and, among these, most intend to put focus on the most vulnerable countries to cooperate first with the geographical areas / institutions / most vulnerable populations. This type of analysis will be based on the evidence resulting from the investigation of the problems of development and cooperation.
They will be explored possibilities of enhancing models of South-South cooperation and even South-South-North cooperation.
Nevertheless, there is openness and interest in cooperating with other countries in the global south out of the spectrum of Portuguese-speaking countries.
